abstract
This study assesses the effectiveness of a self-instructional module on improving knowledge regarding the utilization of emergency crash carts in hospitals among B.Sc. Nursing 2nd year students in selected nursing colleges in Jabalpur. Using a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design, 60 students participated in the study. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in the students’ knowledge post-intervention, with a mean score increase from 13.6 in the pre-test to 18.61 in the post-test (t=41.75, p<0.05). The study also revealed significant associations between demographic variables such as age, gender, prior knowledge, and attendance at workshops with knowledge scores. The findings highlight the critical role of structured educational interventions in enhancing nursing students' competency in emergency care, ultimately improving hospital emergency preparedness.
